Beautiful Taiwan
Taiwan’s natural mountainous and forest settings are offset by beautiful coastal scenes and a landscape dotted with temples and shrines. The capital Taipei has a wealth of things to see, from ancient temples and the National Palace Museum to the world's current tallest skyscraper. Lung Shan Temple (the Dragon Mountain Temple) is nestled in the bustling old Wanhua District and only a short stroll from Huashi Night Market. At the edge of the city stands Yang Ming Shan National Park, a favourite with locals for its amazing scenery, hot springs and wildlife. Away from the capital, Hualien is a good starting point for tours of Taroko Gorge. The region is popular for its indigenous song and dance performances.
