I loved the place! The staff were like parents taking care of their children, they took my gear for me to another room when they got the news that there is another available spot in the female room. They're super caring, nice, funny and chill at the same time. They also welcomed my friends from another hostel and let us take the bikes for free. The hot tub for 5 dollars in the evening is super relaxing and the hostel is also full of things to do such as comfy Tv room and board games. It is just amazing, I would recommend it to everyone.

Great place to stay for a night before heading off up do the Paparoa track. Very clean, comfortable beds, friendly people and great facilities.

I stayed regularly here over 10 years ago (during my motorbike trips around the Sth Island) it was a great place to stay then as it is now. This place is very chill, great value for money and is still probably the best budget accommodation in the country. Highly recommended

By far, the best and coziest lodge/hostel that I’ve stayed in New Zealand. The owners are superb, and so is the lodge itself. Spotless clean, beautifully decorated, quiet and with green and lake aside, and the beach behind. Would have stayed longer if I had the time

The owners were very friendly, the whole place is beautifully designed, clean and has a good atmosphere and good amenities. Prefect place to relax for a couple of days while traveling the west coast.
